What Vacation presents to get Them?
Summer is now truly upon us, a huge amount of families and individuals will be setting off into the sun to top up their tans and relax by the pool. But a lot of people simply get caught up and confused in what to actually get their family members. So lets take a brief look at some ideas for presents.
Souvenir
A souvenir is probably one of the easiest options and in most occasions one of the most boring. Most people know to expect a basic souvenir, so if you bring that back to them, then it shows that you have not put a lot of thought into it.
Cigarettes and Alcohol
We all know that one of the best benefits of going abroad is the ability to get cheap alcohol and tobacco. So if any of your family like an casual fume or beverage then they will be enthralled.
Edibles
Depending on where you are going you can bring back some great edibles. As an example if you are off to Turkey then your family and friends will be delighted when you bring them back a nice piece of Turkish delight. Also chocolate is always a great winner
Fragrances
Another thing that you can get quite cheaply abroad is perfume and aftershave; you can actually save up to 50% on these products compared to the UK or American market. Both the males and the females will be absolutley delighted with such great gifts.

Who Will Really Pay For The New UK Rate Of VAT?
When UK VAT went down to 15% just three years ago, people weren’t sure whether it was a pointless gesture or the kick start the recession-ridden economy needed. The idea was that by getting us to pay a little less on our Thailand holidays and other luxuries, we’d be inspired to spend more, giving the economy some kind of forward motion. Whilst the VAT drop wasn’t a notable success, we didn’t exactly spiral into catastrophic recession either. Regardless, that 2.5% of VAT is back anyway. As small as the resulting price differences may be, you can bet that they’re not going to make anyone happy, or make their lives easier.
There’s a political angle of course. Voters are beginning to tire of a coalition government that has a very poor few of promises. Discontent about David Cameron’s U-Turn on previous comments ruling out a VAT rise seem to pale in comparison next to the deputy prime minister’s U-Turn on University fee policies (2.5% versus 300% anyone?). But the British have been all too used to living within their means in recent years, (no more Caribbean holidays, maybe) so any change in the water-level can seem inordinately uncomfortable.
But it isn’t really the individual who will suffer. If there’s any sympathy to be spared, it should go to the businesses. Businesses aren’t helping their profile by any means. Retail obligingly passed on the VAT cut to its customers last time, but it’s also passing on the raise this time. It’s hardly unexpected that the shops are doing this, but it would help many an image to make the gesture of keeping VAT at 17.5% for customers (Vodafone, we’re looking at you). Not that I’m pointing fingers. But regardless, some analysts are predicting a 2.2 billion pound loss in the first three months of the year. So far, the pre-rise January sales have ensured a reasonable start to the year. But will the extra £30 we’re talking about on your Mauritius holidays completely discourage you from going on holiday? It seems unlikely. We will quite obligingly pay more for things that are visibly more expensive. Our everyday purchases will be the main bone of contention.
How to Observe Valentine’s Day Without Breaking the Bank
A lot of people are striving to figure out how they can wow their loved one without emptying their wallet now that Valentine’s Day is swiftly approaching. We all know that Valentine’s Day can cost an arm and a leg, and if you have no idea how to find the gift you want for less, you can swiftly go broke.
Getting both your presents and your decorations from a wholesale supplier can be a great option to find merchandise at a much lower cost for those who really get into making Valentine’s Day a special occasion. While many other wholesale supply vendors do not sell to retail buyers, Rhinomart will trade with the general public. This can help unlock a multitude of additional interesting choices that aren’tnormally available to regular customers.
Maybe you’re trying to locate something that will be the perfect Valentine’s Day present for that special someone in your life. It will quickly become apparent that any Valentine’s Day items that you find in standard retail shops have already been marked up. However, this price markup isn’t a factor if you go through a wholesale supply source.
The profit margin is already built in when you shop with a wholesale supplier, since they purchase their merchandise directly from the item’s producer. You don’t have to stressabout the cost of your goods changing based the special event or the season in which they’re being sold. It’s always a smart decision to acquire goods from a wholesale seller because of this.
Quite a bit of unique Valentine’s Day merchandise can be easily purchased at a wholesale supplier like Rhinomart.com, which is open and available to ordinary retail customers just like you. Did you know that you can even buy items that comes in bulk lots? The advantage of buying products in this manner is that you can turn around and sell the additional products that you bought and actually generate a profit on them!
Non-profit organizations and charities have started looking into methods in which they can do business employing a wholesale supplier. This strategy can actually equip them with quite a few authentic benefits. For example, one of the biggest advantages for these charities is concerning the fact that many key events are planned to coordinate with holidays that everyone already observes. Decorations and additional supplies need to be obtained for all of these events and can add up to a substantial amount of revenue for a charity. However, they can purchase supplies in larger quantities and even spare some expense if they purchase wholesale merchandise. Rhino mart carries an extensive selection of merchandise, and Valentine’s Day decorations aren’t all they sell.
This is why becoming a seller in order to create additional revenue is starting to appeal to many of the more savvy charities. Because when their patrons come to a gathering or event held by the charities, they will probably be open to buying something. Not only can they raise additional funds for their agency, they can also offer a quality product at a fair price through the strategy of using wholesale merchandise. Times are tough for many people right now and as a result pledges have fallen, so most charities need to do something in order to compensate. You might want to spend a few minutes considering how aacquiring wholesale products might benefit you. Maybe it would help save cash for Valentine’s Day, or maybe it’s for another cause.
Look into the online wholesale dealer Rhinomart to help you save money on the Valentine’s Day items you are searching for, and even have your items conveniently transported to your home!
New Year In The Office?
There to do seem to be many reasons out there why you shouldnt even think about having a New Years party in the office and I can say that some of this is down to personal experience and the rest is just well known.
What are the reasons why you shouldnt be doing this?
Drink
Drink is certainly not something that you should mix in the office. There is nothing wrong with having just a few drinks with the office employees but I wouldnt say that you should go too far. In fact I would actually say that it is a brilliant idea to have a couple of drinks with the colleagues because it will just lighten the mood in the office for the holidays.
Insurance
It had to be mentioned I’m afraid and although the insurance will cover many things that may be damaged from drink, fights and other things I am sure that not all office insurance policies will be happy to fork out hundreds and possibly thousands of pounds because the employees have been careless.
On top of this I will also say that a lot of small business insurance will not even cover you if you spill certain drinks like beer and wine over computers because those types of drinks are not generally acceptable in the work environment.
Just A Bit Of Personal Experience
This year we had our annual Christmas party here, well at least part of it, and it turned out nothing got broken but I think we were lucky and moving on to the pub was a good idea. Drinks were being passed around left, right and centre and it didn’t help that we had all had a couple of beers at the bowling alley.
However I will say once again that there is nothing wrong with having a few in office games like pool, gaming or of course poker. The thing is, the only time in which these problems seem to happen is when people just take things a bit.
Other Options?
Other than staying in the office there are actually many options out there to choose from. You could perhaps go for a paid trip to a restaurant and hit the clubs and all of the employees would happily go out if they know their food is paid for. It is only at venues like this where you get to see the people for who they are, the boss could turn out to be a really laid back person. I wouldn’t say that they should use this information against you in the office but to help you push forward in the company.
The Joys of Christmas
Christmas trivia will show that this is the most important Holiday in the Christian world. In addition to being the most important holiday in the Christian calendar, it has also become one of the most commercial days of the year, and there is an entire economy created in America because of the Christmas season.
A Christmas quiz will show that the date of Christmas is meant to symbolize the day of the birth of Jesus Christ. Few assume that this was the actual day that Jesus was born, although scholars have not been able to pinpoint definitively the origin of the use of December 25th to commemorate Christ’s birth.
An interesting point of Christmas trivia is how early the holiday was established. Feasts were held to honor Christ on that day as early as 300-400AD. The Holiday would become more and more important during the Middle Ages, and by the 1300s, many of the most important rulers were celebrating the holiday with huge feasts and festivals.
The western tradition of Christmas has extended the holiday beyond the Christian elements of its origin. A Christmas quiz will show that we now have many elements associated with the holiday which are more about commercialism and gift giving than about religion, and without a doubt the most well known of these is Santa Clause. It is important to note that although Santa is not a Christian figure; most have embraced him as an enjoyable symbol of the holidays.
Santa has his roots in many different traditions of a gift giver from this time of year. Different cultures call him by many different names, such as Sinterclauss, Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, and Kris Kringle. The original gift giving icon was supposed to wear the robes of a Bishop, still attached to the religious tones of the holiday. The image of Santa that we know now was created by an illustrator in the 1800’s by the name of Thomas Nast.
The economy of Christmas has become very important, and something that many countries are surely considering given the current global economic situation. After thanksgiving, it seems like all of America becomes aimed at marketing products towards the Christmas audience. Many feel that the commercialism of the holiday is a detriment to the values of religion, family, and peace on earth which were for so long the ideals that the holiday was meant to bring into focus.
Here it is - Christmas!!
So what about Christmas holidays, is it now time to get booking? We are just coming to the end of August and people are already searching for Christmas holidays online. In fact it is unbelievably clear how much this search volume has risen. People have decided that instead of booking those last minute holidays, to go after holidays that they can plan for over Christmas.
From January to the end of July, the search volume for such holidays was so low, that there was no need for web-sites to start targeting them. Because the keyword is becoming so competitive, web-sites that target it have had to start trying even harder in bulk. The pages designed for Christmas holidays are being redesigned and outfitted with some powerful keywords, and the site itself is making a change to promote it.
It is difficult to determine what people are looking for when they search for a Christmas holiday? Is it the overseas holiday that they are really looking for? The term Christmas holidays applies to many different areas. Not just to those, that are actually looking for a Christmas holiday away, but also to those looking for bank holidays, the specific day of Christmas and Boxing Day, not to mention new years.
If people aren’t really looking for the Christmas holidays, then tour operators could be losing much valuable time? Or are they already anticipating a rise in searches for these holidays. If you have a look at the search trends throughout the past year, if the trends keep to how they have in the past, the search for these holidays ceases early in november. At this time of the year, you would think that people would be searching more, rather than now. This is slowly becoming a very competitive term, many tour operators are looking at using this term to pull in more customers. What’s your decision? Are you preparing to book your winter holidays, and will they abroad or at home?
BT offering staff some new and creative holiday ideas!
So if the company you worked for said “you can take a massive holiday but less pay” what would you do?
Well BT have come out and said that this is what they are going to be offering their employees. The staff are being told they can even take a 25% lump sum of their annual pay and take the whole year off, staying at home or getting a holiday off their own back. Another option that is really being pushed forward is to ask some employees to take a one thousand pound lump sum and then go part time for the rest of the year.
So what’s spurred this on? BT have just come out and said how much profit that they have lost this year, in-fact they have a lost a massive 1,3 billion pounds. So their plan is to reduce the wages to all of their one hundred thousand staff, this way they can save a large sum of spending fees.
So looking at this in a positive light, what do the employees get out of this? Taking the time to be with the family will be nice, especially if the spouse is working, you will still have some income. The other thing that they do mention, is that nobody will be pushed or forced into taking these options. There are some that will like to take a long trip, to find themselves or something. Relaxing St Lucia holidays or Egypt Holidays.
However there are problems with this as well, people wont be able to afford to go on any of these holidays. People with children are going to find it increasingly difficult to find the money to take of their children. It is surely debatable about whether or not this is a good strategy? Personally I believe that BT needs to find other ways of sorting out the business instead of letting its employees take the fall.
However if you are one of the lucky ones who can still afford Caribbean holidays, then you may as well enjoy the break.
MySpace Stops People from Relaxing on Holiday
As summer time approaches more and more people are going to be going on holiday to get away from the everyday stresses of life. But there is something that is the same with most of the current young day people, none of them end up totally getting the relaxation they need because they have become addicted with updating their social networking profiles such as Twitter, Facebook and MySpace.
In a survey just over half of British folk have admitted checking messages, going online and texting, even a bigger percentage admitted that they spend most of their holiday updating their pages on networking and micro blogging sites, which is actually a huge amount considering the fact that the survery was for two thousand people.
More and more folk are failing to spend the relaxation time that they need to recover from everyday stresses. When someone goes on a break, thats exactly what they need to do, have a break and relax. But that is not the case, people are turning their backs on visiting tourist destinations to instead communite with friends and family back home.
There is a lot of reasons why people have become so obsessed with updating their profiles and a majority of it is people cannot stop bragging to friends and family. For example if you log in to your social networking profile, a huge amount of updates that you will see will consist of people saying what they have achieved or what they have got. It is basically like the whole world is in competition, so when they go on beach or safari holidays there is bound to be an endless flow of updates so the whole world can see what they are doing and where they are.

Should You Work Whilst on Holiday?
Summer time is coming and a vast amount of people are looking to book their holidays, although the credit crunch has hit hard this year people are still finding a way to take a break whether it’s a caravan holiday or a visit to a selection of beach resorts. And so much so as holidays should really be taken at regular occasions to help the body relax. But with the credit crunch biting a lot more people are trying to stay in their jobs so will take away their work with them? And help understaffed companies? Lets take a quick glance.
Research by Lexmark has indicated that one third of British folk are going to be taking their laptops or new smart handsets away with them, which causes to folk not getting enough rest and relaxation where needed. The worst thing about this is that folk will become a lot less productive as they will not be resting their bodies a sufficient amount. When you go on holiday the time should solely be spent pampering yourself.
But things look even worse as more and more people have said that they work at home after hours. All this has been caused by the credit crunch, people just do not want to risk being seen as unreliable in the work place. But in reality you are more likely to get let go from your job if you get so tired that you are not doing the necessary work. Also if you become overwhelmingly tired then that will rub off when you speak to clients. So book a trip and take that Barbados holidays that you have always wanted, there is no better time then now.
