Three Things You’ll Never Hear from Home Business Owners

Copyright 2006 www.eliasg.com

There are a few things you will never hear a home business owner say.  The fact they don’t utter those particular comments actually tell us a lot about why owning your home business is so incredibly attractive.  Let’s look at three examples and what they show us.

First, you will never hear a home business owner say, “I wish I had my old schedule back.”  Although some people seem to take comfort in certainty, those who own their own businesses soon find that the flexibility and personal fulfillment that comes with being in charge of their own lives makes what some see as a form of security almost akin to a prison.  They love making their own hours and deciding how to use their own time.

Second, a home business owner will never say, “I wish I was more appreciated.”  You’ll hear that lament from many people who slave away at nine to five jobs without recognition or reward, but those who run their own businesses receive immediate financial and personal rewards for their efforts.  They are no longer concerned about being noticed or appreciated.  They get to experience the direct benefits of everything they do and learn to appreciate themselves more in the process.

Finally, those who operate home businesses never say, “I feel trapped.”  Again, you can hear that complaint from those in the traditional workforce, but people who own and operate their own moneymakers don’t have to worry about feeling trapped in something they don’t enjoy or that doesn’t bring a sense of fulfillment or adequate pay.  Instead, they always have the option to grow, transform or redirect their professional lives based on their interests and experiences.

Owning your own business may not always be easy.  It can require some effort and determination.  However, those seem like small prices to pay for the sense of personal freedom and opportunity for financial rewards that come along with being one’s own boss instead of merely serving as an employee.  The things you don’t hear from home business owners can tell you a great deal about controlling your own operation and the attendant benefits of escaping a world of employee clock-punchers!

If you are considering your own home business, think about the issues upon which other home business owners are silent.  Their lack of complaints and angst on certain topics can give you some big clues about just how rewarding it can be to own your own business.

Seek Out a True Internet Home Business Plan

Copyright 2006 www.eliasg.com

Every day, a seemingly countless number of people discouraged by the inevitable limitations of the traditional workplace strike out in a new direction as a home business owner.  Although many make wise decisions that result in financial and personal well-being, others make common errors that produce more disappointment and frustration than real profits.  One of the most common mistakes is the failure to seek out an online home business plan that truly harnesses the power of technology.

Although thousands upon thousands of business opportunities are offered online, many are little more than old methods sold via a web page.  The businesses themselves don’t really take advantage of the Internet revolution at all.  They are the same old plans we used to find advertised in magazines and newspapers dressed up with a flashy website.

The smartest home business owners recognize that the growth of the Internet and its amazing ability to offer a low overhead and efficient means of reaching millions of potential customers make those opportunities custom-tailored for today’s high-tech society far more valuable than traditional plans.

If you are considering escaping the nine-to-five world for something more rewarding, focus your attention on online business opportunities that are grounded in a solid understanding of the Internet.  Don’t settle for an old-school plan injected with a little bit of “web talk.”

Although any traditional business model can benefit from the use of the Internet, those home business opportunities that are truly designed with today’s technological reality in mind offer the greatest chance for success.  Many inadvertently embrace a plan espoused by a clever web site without understanding that the underlying business model is woefully outdated for the modern economy.

Most people interested in a home business want to be able to succeed without making a massive initial investment and without having to constantly tend to traditional “brick and mortar” concerns.  True Internet home business plans allow one to do just that!  They are built with the Internet economy and its continued explosive growth in mind.  These internet home business plans are designed by online experts who recognize the power of automation and residual income streams, instead of relying on tired and limp methods that have run their course.

By seeking out a true Internet home business plan, one can successfully earn both direct and residual income from the comfort of their own home without suffering through the frustration and disappointment of making yesterday’s square pegs fit into today’s round holes.

One-Up Compensation: An Alternative to Traditional Multi-Level Marketing

Copyright 2006 www.eliasg.com

The multi-level marketing (MLM) business has a somewhat tarnished image.  Part of the problem has stemmed from unscrupulous parties adopting the payout structure in support of scams and frauds.  Another reason for discontent is dissatisfaction many business operators have had with various variations on the payment plan.

At its core, MLM is attractive.  Adam sells to Bob.  Adam gets a commission.  Bob sells to Charlie, Bob and Adam get a commission.  The process can go deeper, but the idea is that one gets payment not only for the direct sales they make but also for the direct sales made by others one has recruited.  Of course, that also means that a percentage of one’s own sales and commissions are also getting “kicked up” to someone else.

The possibilities this system creates are attractive, but there is also a downside.  Part of one’s earnings will always be destined to disappear in the form of a payment to the recruiter.  It can also be a difficult system to track and can require one to spend a great deal of time dealing with his or her downline to make the process a success.

These weaknesses, combined with some of the controversy surrounding MLM has led to the creation of some alternative payment structures that are gaining popularity in the online marketing world.  One of the most attractive alternatives to MLM is the one-Up compensation plan.  This system has been embraced by some online business industry leaders and is gaining steam as a powerful alternative to other MLM plans.

With a one-up plan, one’s first sale is passed directly to the person who made the initial referral to the online business.  After that, one earns direct commissions from then on out.  Additionally, if one sponsors any other business participants, they receive the commission from the sponsored individual’s first sale.  The first qualifying sale of individuals sponsored one level beneath you also come back to you.  It’s a system similar to that used in the insurance and real estate industries for several years, and it is proving to be very well-received and lucrative for online home business, as well.

One-up compensation plans are time-tested in the brick and mortar world and avoid many of the problems frequently associated with MLM plans.  Programs like the Prosperity Automated System (PAS) have been successfully using one-up structures for some time, clearly demonstrating that there is a fair and better way to handle referral business and commissions for online businesses.

Avoiding Three Obstacles to Work-at-Home Success

Copyright 2006 www.eliasg.com

The prospect of a profitable work-at-home business is incredibly attractive.  Every year, millions of people investigate and implement various moneymaking strategies in hopes of building their own successful work-at-home career.  Unfortunately, most of them fail to realize a profit.  Those failures can usually be traced back to one of three primary causes.  Let’s look at what dooms so many ventures and how one may be able to work around those obstacles.

First, most people hate selling.

Most home-based business strategies require making sales to other people.  Whether online or offline, selling is often the very foundation of these opportunities.  Unfortunately, most of us don’t like to sell.  In fact, many people find the process of dealing with prospects completely unnerving.  It can be hard for people to conquer their distaste of sales and this leads many to give up on their dreams of operating a winning home business.

Second, most people can’t sell.

Those who can get past their reservations about selling are still unable to close deals.  Even though some home business packages will claim to “teach anyone how to sell,” the ability to successfully market and to convert prospects into buyers is an art form.  Not everyone is a natural salesperson and learning the tricks to successful selling can take years and years.  The lack of sales skills kills many home-based ventures.

Third, most people lack time and time management skills.

All of us are burdened with long “to-do” lists.  Many of those pursuing a work-at-home career do so while maintaining a full-time job, too.  Home-based business opportunities can take a great deal of time to build and operate.  The clock is always ticking, and twenty-four hours per day isn’t always enough time to manage one’s life and a business.  Countless work-at-home plans become victims of the clock.

So, if one wants to operate a successful home-based business, they will need to get over their distaste for selling, develop top-notch sales skills, and find a way to put in late night after late night in order to make things work, right?

Well, that is one approach.  However, most of those interested in controlling their own financial future would prefer to work smart instead of working hard.  That’s why they seek out proven home-based business models that don’t require making sales or massive time commitments.  Instead of trying to climb over these obstacles, many successful entrepreneurs have found ways to avoid them completely.

Some great work-at-home opportunities don’t require selling or staying up all night just to get things going.  By finding these non-intensive passive revenue streams, one can maximize his or her chance at home business success.
