When my network marketing company finally got on the internet and gave us all a website, we were so excited. We knew everyone made money on the internet, and we thought, wow, this will transform our MLM business! Surely people would find our website and become customers when they saw what we had. We decided to have a site to recruit prospects as well, just to increase our chances of success.
We certainly never thought about driving any traffic to our site! I suppose we thought that people would accidentally find our site and be so interested they could not help themselves but to sign up or buy products! We were certain that with all the people online, and us handing out so many cards, it would definitely bring in results ! We certainly had results. Yes, at least 5 leads filled in their details on our site. Unfortunately three of them were spam, as we now call it; idiots we called them at the time. The rest were not qualified.
Now we know the secret MLM tip! Several years on, and with so much more experience of working on the internet, I regard these early attempts at internet marketing with a smile. Really, we had no idea! Nowadays I consider it funny that MLM companies still pass out these sweet little replicated websites to their reps. I understand completely that it is their way of holding on to the content of these websites. Obviously they do not want to be taken to court for their distributors over-zealous descriptions of their products benefits!
If you are in Network Marketing today, I need to ask you something: Do you realise that your company website is a waste of time? And do you know that you need to have your own website or at least a capture page, if you want to sponsor reps online? You see Google does not like replicated websites because they are all the same. You are never going to get click-throughs, because Google will never rank them high enough for them to be seen. Google likes webpages to have original content, and it likes it to change regularly. Company websites are stagnant. With no regularly updated content, they just do not rank highly.
Therefore if you are fishing around on the internet now, wondering how some people manage to sponsor other people online, your company website is not the answer. There is alot to learn, including attracting people to you, getting hold of their details, showing them how valuable you are and enrolling them into your business. Basically, unless you have your own internet teacher, you will need to have a system which you can follow. Because believe me, there is a pretty steep learning curve. But it is well worth the effort, because it knocks offline prospecting into touch!
